Ghent, Belgium: Susato Trio & Patrick Jüdt: Mozart

  • MIRY Concertzaal 9 Biezekapelstraat Gent, Vlaanderen, 9000 Belgium (map)

The Susato Trio joins forces with their mentor and seasoned veteran, violist Patrick Jüdt. He is Professor of Viola, Chamber Music, and Contemporary Music at the Bern University of the Arts and one of the artistic directors at ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy). As part of ECMA, the Susato Trio also performed at MIRY last month, alongside two other top ensembles.

In their choice of repertoire, the Susato Trio consistently seeks out music that has unintentionally or unjustly fallen into the folds of time. They then place this alongside more well-known works. As a trio, this approach has already attracted the attention of various competition juries on several occasions. For instance, in 2024, they won both the first prize and the audience award at the Supernova competition organized by radio station Klara. Now they are expanding into a piano quartet and have chosen, among other works, Mozart's First Piano Quartet.

Program:

W.A. Mozart (1756-1791)

Piano Quartet in G minor, K. 478
